How It Works
Energy from the sun shines down at 1,000 watts per square meter. Your onsite solar system converts that sunlight into electricity and supplies power to your facility.
If your state allows for Net Metering, then any excess electricity generated by your solar system during the day is sent back to the utility grid, causing your utility meter to spin backwards. This lessens the strain on the utility grid during its highest period of demand and represents a valuable contribution to the local community by delivering incremental peak power when it is most needed.
When the sun goes down, your facility will draw electricity from the utility grid at night as it normally would and your utility meter spins forward again.
